It's no secret that 3rd and 4th generation Rams are prone to catastrophic front driveshaft failures.

These failures typically occur at the double cardan joint on the upper end of the shaft, next to the transfer case.

After the driveshaft or transfer case breaks free, the loose driveshaft is likely to come through the cab floor, and/or rupture nearby fuel/brake/transmission lines, causing fire in some cases.

This driveshaft loop will not prevent driveshaft failures but will protect from secondary damage in the event of a failure.

It is still recommended to grease and inspect your driveshaft frequently.

This kit features laser cut, powder coated 1/4" plate steel construction, includes instructions, and all necessary high-tensile hardware.

Note: 2018 and up models have Center Axle Disconnect (CAD), and the front driveshaft isn't "driven" unless 4WD is engaged, or the CAD system is malfunctioning. We believe the driveshaft loop is still a good idea, especially if you spend a lot of time in 4 wheel drive.

The driveshaft loop is robust and fit my 2016 2500 perfectly. The factory crossmember bolts were so long I elected to install the loop in series. I used M16 self locking flange nuts and torqued to 90 ft/lbs. This leaves some additional room to access the grease fitting on the double-cardan, as shown. Highly recommend this loop and it gives me peace of mind for a fraction of the cost of a tank of fuel today. Don’t think; just do.

The loop is solid and well fabricated. I must admit, you have to be a man to break loose those two bolts on the frame. I had to break out my impact wrench to get the job done. It’s installed and fits well. Believe I can still reach that zert fitting buried up inside the u-joint without having to remove the safety loop. That’s a bonus! Overall I now have piece of mind that I’ve done all I can do to help protect my truck from a front drive shaft u-joint dismemberment.

Ordered this and quickly got a shipping confirmation. It arrived quickly and the package had some good weight to it, before I opened it I knew it was well made. The part is painted black and well done with some simple directions on the install. Took me about 20 minutes to do it. Absolutely worth the peace of mind in the event of a driveshaft failure. Recommend this for anyone with a 2500/3500 ram

Had a friend lose his front driveshaft on his Ford the other day, after seeing the destruction and that truck being stranded on the side of the road I ordered one of these. My trucks a 17 Ram 3500 and I'll be honest there is so much junk around the front driveshaft that I'm not entirely sure how much this loop will actually protect, but I figure for $100 I'd rather have it on there that not, cheap insurance. I don't know why the Ram engineers decided to run so many harnesses through there, plus on my C&C the driveshaft isn't greasable at all. It's a great concept, glad it's on the market and it's pretty quick and easy to install. Like I said cheap insurance if nothing else. I've had these fronts go bad on older rams but never had one explode, yet.

Install is very easy. The only issue I see is the bolt head on the left side of the upper bracket rubs on existing wiring harness. I cut a piece of short AC pipe insulation and taped it to keep bolt head from rubbing on wire harness.
